Residency for Retirees & Passive Income

The D7 Visa is designed for non-EU citizens who wish to relocate to Portugal and have a reasonable net regular passive income. It is the most popular route for retirees and those living off their own foreign income.

Unlike the Golden Visa, the D7 requires you to become a tax resident in Portugal and spend a significant amount of time here (minimum 16 months in the first 2-year period). In exchange, it offers a very low cost of entry and full access to Portuguese healthcare and education.
